IndiGo offers two seats for one flier

Kochi: Citing additional safety of passengers in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, domestic low-cost airline IndiGo has launched a scheme that allows passengers to book two seats for a single person so that s/ he can leave the seat vacant to maintain enough space with other person sitting in the same row.
Named, 6E Double Seat, the scheme charges effectively up to 25% lower than the original booking cost for the extra seat as it will not attract any airport charges like passenger service fee (PSF) and user development fee (UDF). It will only have airline components and GST.
Meanwhile, there is no separate check-in baggage allowance for a double seat. Also, a double seat cannot be transferred to another passenger in a booking and may not be encashed.
The scheme is aimed at passengers who are ready to pay the extra premium for their safety during air travel.
