Jaipur: Privatisation of Jaipur airport has been postponed again till March because of the pandemic.
According to airport sources, construction of the new building had got stuck because of the lockdown.
Earlier, it was decided that six airports including Jaipur were to be handed over to Adani Group on PPP mode. However, Jaipur airport was yet to receive any approval in this regard from the Centre. “All the work related to the privatisation of Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram airports is still pending,” said a senior officer.
Authorities claimed that Adani Group had to pay an asset transfer fee of Rs 1,000 crore for these three airports. A senior airport official said the privatisation of Jaipur airport has been postponed. “The work of the new building is still pending. Only bidding was done as there was no Union cabinet approval on this.”
