Thoubal: Officials of Central Forest Mantripukhri under the supervision of their DFO, RK Amarjit disposed of smuggled wildlife articles handed over to them by staff of Indigo Airlines and Lamlai Police at its complex, today.
Some of the seized articles were burnt while the remaining were buried.
Speaking to media persons, RK Amarjit said that the items that were burnt include 4.3 kg of dry meat of barking deer; 3.7 kg of semi roasted monkey meat and wild boar and 9.10 kg of semi-roasted meat of barking deer and wild boar which were seized from Bir Tikendrajit International Airport on February 17 last by the staff of Indigo Airlines.
While 40 kg of semi roasted, fresh and putrefying meat of barking deer, sambar deer and monkey seized on May 17 last by Lamlai police were buried, he added.
