Vistara to soon start flights to London; Indians can go to UAE now on any type of valid visa

New Delhi: Tata Sons-Singapore Airlines JV Vistara will “very soon” start flights to London under the air bubble India has formed with the UK. Also, Indians with valid UAE visa can now go there with the condition that such passengers should be destined for the UAE only.
The aviation ministry on Monday issued a notification which states who all can travel under the air bubble with UAE. On India-UAE sector, the allowed categories are: “UAE nationals; ICA approved UAE residents destined for UAE only; and any Indian national holding any type of valid UAE visa and destined for UAE only…. airlines concerned to ensure that there is no travel restriction for Indian nationals to enter UAE with the particular visa category before issue of ticket/ boarding pass to the Indian passenger.”
A senior official of a UAE airline said the visa-on-arrival (VoA) for eligible categories of Indians will continue under the air bubble system also. “Those eligible for VoA can get it there. (Such passengers) need to show their eligibility such as US or Schengen visa or green card to immigrations there for the VoA,” the official said.
Meanwhile, Vistara will begin flights to London Heathrow using the Dreamliner Boeing 787 it has. The full service carrier will get its second Dreamliner this month. While comments from Vistara on its medium haul launch are awaited, the airline will be operating to London Heathrow.
India has now allowed its citizens to travel to countries with which air bubble arrangements have been finalised — US, Canada, UK, Germany, France an UAE — on any type of visa.
