Chennai: Chennai air customs intercepted three postal parcels which arrived from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands at Foreign Post Office Chennai and recovered 215 MDMA pills and 7g of MDMA crystals valued at 7lakh, an official release said.
They seized the drugs under the NDPS Act, 1985, the release said.
The parcel from the UK which was to be sent to Ooty was examined and in it, a kids toy box was found. In the box, a pouch containing 15 grey skull shaped MDMA pills "MYBRAND" and 7g of MDMA crystal powder was found concealed.
On opening the second parcel, 50 green 'grenade' and 50 purple skull MDMA pills were recovered from two plastic pouches which were found inside. The parcel was addressed to a Nammakal based-person and had arrived from the Netherlands. In all, 100 MDMA pills with marking 'Tesla' were recovered from the third parcel which arrived from the Netherlands and was addressed to a Chennai resident.
