Air India Express & Centaur Hotels get new CEOs

New Delhi: The government has appointed airline industry veteran Aloke Singh as CEO of divestment-bound Air India Express. Singh was Air India’s executive director (strategy and planning) for over a decade till 2014 when he quit the Maharaja to join Oman Air in Muscat. Singh has been appointed on contractual basis for three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, says the order issued by the aviation ministry on Thursday.

The ministry also appointed Deepak Khullar as the CEO of AI subsidiary Hotel Corporation of India (HCI) which runs Centaur hotels in Delhi and Srinagar. While AI Express fate will be decided by the outcome of its ongoing divestment process, the government had last year allowed HCI’s 1982-era Centaur at Delhi Airport till March 31, 2032, instead of being demolished immediately to make way for airport expansion.
