Helicopter lands in school premises in Andhra Pradesh village: Headmaster among 8 booked

Hyderabad: A private helicopter carrying the family of a former aviation official from Hyderabad used a government school premises as helipad in a village in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.

The episode took place on Tuesday (October 27). Revenue divisional officer (RDO) Suvarnamma conducted an enquiry in the village on Wednesday. Efforts to reach the RDO and other senior officials for details remained unsuccessful.

The police have booked a case against eight persons including the helicopter operator, those who travelled in it and the school headmaster who gave permission for landing the helicopter there.

The former aviation official, who is a film producer, had gone to Revuru village in Anantasagaram block with his family to attend a wedding of an NRI family. The host is learnt to have told the officials that he had obtained written permission from the headmaster to land the helicopter in the school premises. The helicopter returned after dropping the family.
