As we all know, the regular passenger flight service has already started from the Darbhanga Vidyapati Airport from November 8, 2020. Now, the officials of the Airport and SpiceJet are looking forward to starting the Air Ambulance Service.
What is the Air Ambulance Service?
Well, Air Ambulance are medically equipped aircrafts that are used to relocate patients from one region to another. In Air Ambulance service helicopter or aeroplane both could be used, it depends on the Airline company, here which is SpiceJet.
Why is the Air Ambulance Service now necessary in Darbhanga?
Well, as most of you know Darbhanga has some world class hospitals and medical colleges. For example, Darbhanga has DMCH (Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital), Paras Global Hospital, City Hospital, Apollo and recently the centre approved Rs 1361 crore fund for AIIMS in Darbhanga. That means soon an All India Institute of Medical Sciences branch will also be opened in Darbhanga. So, you can see that Darbhanga is transforming into a medical hub in Bihar, therefore, an air ambulance service is necessary in the same district. And now, because the city has an airport, it is easy to start the air ambulance service.
When will Darbhanga start the Air Ambulance Service?
For now, we haven’t any exact date when air ambulance service will be started in Darbhanga but as per the airport authority the service will be started soon.
