Soon, Bengaluru's Kempe Gowda International airport will be connected by train services

Bengaluru: Bengaluru residents will soon be able to reach the city's International airport by taking a train service which will be provided by the Indian Railways' South Western Railway zone.

The Rs 3 crore halt station, equipped with various amenities, near Kempegowda International Airport, is finally ready.

KIA halt station, built by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), is coming up between Doddajala and Devanahalli stations. The station, which is just 3.5 km from the airport terminal, is expected to benefit 28,000 airport employees as well as passengers. The BIAL will operate shuttle services between the halt station and airport terminal which will be based on train schedules on this route.

Today, the Indian Railways took to Twitter to provide a glance of the newly constructed railway station which will connect the Kempe Gowda International Airport to the city. In its tweet, it said: "Rail Connectivity to Bengaluru Airport will significantly reduce travel time and provide better commuting facilities. Halt stations on this stretch are developed with modern facilities. Catch glimpses of one of the halt station coming up near Bengaluru airport."
