Belgaum-Mysore TruJet flight makes emergency landing at Chennai airport due to technical snag

Chennai: A TruJet flight with 46 passengers diverted to Chennai airport due to technical snag at 09:08 pm on Monday. ATR 72-500 flight had to take emergency landing due to wheel damage. Belgaum-Mysore TruJet flight could not land at Mysore because of a glitch in one of the landing gears.   

According to the Times of India report, forty-six passengers were evacuated. There were no casualties reported in the incident. The runway was closed for an hour, and the plane was towed to the parking way. Nine other flights used the second runway.    

As per PIB release, 52 passengers, including five crew members and an infant, were safely evacuated from the plane. Chennai airport emergency response team was deployed immediately to take swift action.   

According to airport authorities, the runway operation began at 10:09 pm. TruJet aircraft was towed to the parking way, which caused disruption for a small period of time. However, Singapore Airlines SQ 8028 was diverted to Bangalore.
