Gold worth around Rs 24 lakh seized at Kannur Intl Airport, one held

Kannur: Air customs sleuths on Wednesday seized 470 grams of gold valued around Rs 24 lakh from a passenger who arrived at Kannur International Airport from Dubai in an Air India flight. 

 Customs Assistant Commissioner E Vikas-led team arrested the passenger, a native of Vadakara in Kozhikode district, with the gold. The seized gold in the compound form was kept inside a jar and further investigation is underway, Customs sources said.
