IndiGo starts RT-PCR Covid testing for passengers, can take it at home or visit lab

New Delhi: With the airlines sector slowly gaining momentum following the unlock announcements over the past few months, there have been concerns on passengers' safety and the risk of transmission of Covid-19 in airports and flights. IndiGo has now decided to provide RT-PCR test to all its passengers, both on the domestic as well as international routes.

According to a report in the Financial Express, IndiGo will provide passengers the option of either taking the test at a lab or opt for a home visit for collecting samples.

The report said besides India, IndiGo is offering the service to conduct RT-PCR tests for Covid-19 in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, the UAE, and Kuwait.

The airlines has reportedly tied up with Stemz Healthcare for this.

"To avail of the Covid-19 RT-PCR testing, passengers need to go to the IndiGo website and look for the offer section. At the offer section, customers need to click on 'Test before take-off- Take your pre-6E flight Covid-19 RT-PCR test with Stemz Healthcare and travel with a smile'," the report said.

To book a test appointment, you would need details of flight ticket and any valid identity proof.
