New Delhi: Under revival for a likely restart, Jet Airways has warned its erstwhile employees to be wary of fraudulent job offers being made — with appliance often asked to pay some money — as the airline has not started any recruitment drive as yet.
Ashish Chhawchharia, the airline’s resolution professional (RP), has written a mail to employees of Jet-I informing them that “at this stage, neither Jet Airways nor the consortium have appointed any agent/agency/individuals to make/issue offers of employment on its behalf.”
“Anyone dealing with such agents/agencies/individuals, including employment portals, will be doing so at their own risk and Jet Airways, the consortium and my team shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage suffered directly or indirectly as a result of such dealings,” Chhawchharia’s mail says.
Jet Airways is the first airline to India whose revival is being attempted under the bankruptcy law.
The final approval of NCLT is awaited and after that if the consortia is able to raise the required funds and get back Jet’s slots, the airline may start again sometime next year. Jet-I had a large number of employees, many waiting to be re-employed by Jet-II.
In this situation, certain unscrupulous people started sending messages to ex-employees asking for their biodata and some money.
“…certain agents/agencies/individuals have been contacting job aspirants (particularly current and past employees of Jet Airways) offering employment in the revived airline, once the (winning) consortium is approved by NCLT, Mumbai, to take charge of Jet Airways… job aspirants are being encouraged to forward their respective CVs to certain emails addresses of current Jet Airways officials or to my team members or me. In certain cases, these agents/agencies/individuals may request personal information and/or money in order to process the application. Please note that at this stage, neither Jet Airways nor the consortium have appointed any agent/agency/individuals to make/issue offers of employment on its behalf,” the RP has clearly warned Jet-I employees.
