Indian Idol 12 welcomes Air India all-women crew on Republic Day special episode

Mumbai: Air India's all-women crew that made history by landing longest flight from the US to Bengaluru, flying over the North Pole, will be seen on India Idol 12 this weekend on Republic Day special episode. Captain Zoya Aggarwal, who commanded Air India's Being 777 that flew over the North Pole, is seen praising contestant Sanmukha Priya in Indian Idol 12's new promo.

Sony TV shared the new promo on Instagram where Captain Zoya Aggarwal is seen encouraging contestant Sanmukha Priya who sang Jai Ho from the film The Slumdog Millionaire. "Humari ajoobi #IdolShanmukhapriya aur Captain Zoya Agarwal ke saath #RepublicDaySpecial ho jayega aur bhi zyada khaas! Toh dekhna mat bhuliyega, #IndianIdol2020 iss Sunday raat 8 baje, sirf Sony par (sic)," read the caption.

Air India's crew of four women made history as they landed at Kempegowda International Airport with Air India’s longest direct route flight on January 11 The all-women crew of Air India’s longest direct flight from San Francisco to Bengaluru landed after covering a distance of 16,000 kilometres in which the crew flew over the North Pole. The team of pilots graced the stage of Indian Idol in support of the contestants especially for Shanmukha Priya, as they claimed to be fans of her singing.

Talking about Sanmukha Priya, Captain Zoya Aggarwal said, "India’s four daughters were commissioned on this historic mission and we flew over it victoriously. Today on this stage, Shanmukha has flown over the skies, making her parents proud and all the contestants are yet again making the nation proud."

Shanmukha Priya delivered a powered packed performance and sang Jai Ho. Thanking the Air India team, she said, "I thank you all so much for coming and supporting all of u, this has truly increased our confidence tenfold."
