Fog blankets Chandigarh, Bengaluru flight cancelled, 17 others delayed

Chandigarh: The poor visibility due to dense fog at the Chandigarh International Airport affected 18 flights with eight flights arriving late and nine departing late on Wednesday. A GoAir from Begaluru was also cancelled.

“The foggy conditions prevailed since early morning and the flight operators felt the need of CAT-III-ILS at the airport as the visibility factor dropped as low as 150 metres in the morning, which improved by afternoon,” said the airport officials.

According to the information, flights from Kulu, Leh, Dharamshala and Srinagar were the most affected, whereas flight from other destinations like Ahmedabad and Bengaluru were also delayed.

Air India flights from Leh (AI-3415) arrived late by1.32 hours at 11.47 am, against the scheduled arrival of 10.15 am and subsequently the flight (AI-3416) departed late for Leh by 1.22 hours i.e. at 12.17 pm, against the scheduled departure of 10.55 am.

Similarly, Air India flight (AI-9713) from Dharamshala arrived late by 2.11 hours at 3.31 pm, against the scheduled arrival of 1.20 pm and the flight (AI-9714) departed late for Dharamshala by 2 hours at 4.04 pm, against the scheduled departure of 2.04 pm
