Bhopal: Raja Bhoj airport of the state capital is ready to go full throttle again after witnessing reduced air connectivity due to pandemic.
The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has decided to construct new 16 parking stands at the airport; tenders have already been floated for this facility meant for A-321 aircrafts. At present, Bhopal airport has nine parking stands for A-321 aircrafts, while eight parking areas are reserved for ATR aircrafts.
With these additional 16 parking stands, Bhopal airport will have 33 parking slots. Airport officials said, Bhopal is poised to be the centre of attraction in near future as many airlines have set their eyes to connect the state capital with several other cities. Thus, these facilities are needed.
Director airport, Anil Vikram said, “New parking will come up on 96.5 acres of land. AAI had 106 acres of land in the Bhopal. As the land was encroached, the state government had allotted 96.5 acres at another place. We have requested the state government to release the rest of the land.”
