Air Taxi links Chandigarh with Dehradun from February 10

Mohali: Chandigarh is all set to get connected via air to Dehradun, with an air taxi service to the capital of Uttarakhand starting from February 10, seven days a week On January 14, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar had launched air taxi between Chandigarh and Hisar from the Chandigarh international airport. A Technam-P2206T aircraft is used as air taxi that takes only two passengers per flight to Hisar.

The four-seater aircraft has two pilots but after some time only a single pilot will fly the aircraft to Hisar, making way for another passenger Air taxi services directors Captain Varun Suhag and Captain Poonam Gaur said, “We have scheduled a slot to fly to Dehradun from Chandigarh. The flight is likely to start from February 10. The flight will take approximately 1 hour to reach Dehradun at Jolly Grant airport and the fare is likely to be Rs 4,000 per passenger.”

The two said the aircraft will fly at 6,000 feet above sea level whereas the aircraft has a ceiling to 10,000 feet. The aircraft will be connecting the RCS sector airports which are marked under UDAN regional connectivity scheme (RCS) of the government.

The Dehradun flight will connect Chandigarh with Haridwar, Rishikesh and Mussoorie. It takes more than 4 hours to reach Dehradun by road and around 5 hours by a bus. Similarly, it takes 5 to 6 hours by road to reach Hisar. In an air taxi, it will take you just 1hour.
