Delhi-Dubai 2nd busiest international route this month

Mumbai: The three-and-a half-hour route from Delhi to Dubai is the world’s second busiest international route this month, according to UKbased aviation data firm, OAG. The top slot for February is occupied by the threehour-long route between Orlando in the US and San Juan, capital of Puerto Rico.

Apart from their short flying times, what also connected these busy international routes were the dirt-cheap, last-minute fares on offer, indicating the low demand due to Covid.

Delhi-Dubai return ticket on non-stop flight costs at least Rs 14,500

On Wednesday, the cheapest, 24-hour advance purchase, Delhi-Dubai return ticket on a non-stop flight cost the same as a Delhi-Goa non-stop return, that is, about Rs 14,500. For short haul international flights, the same story repeats in other parts of the world. The cheapest, 24-hour advance purchase return fare on the current busiest international route of the world, Orlando-San Juan, too sold cheap at Rs 16,300, offered by Spirit Airlines.
