‘Worker’ caught with bullet at KIA

Bengaluru: A 28-year-old passenger created a flutter at Kempegowda International Airport on Wednesday afternoon when a live bullet, compatible with automated pistols, was recovered from him.

Claiming to be a labourer, Anil Kumar, who is from Bihar, was scheduled to fly to Varanasi when he was arrested.

The suspect was scheduled to take IndiGo flight 6E 224, which was to depart at 5.30pm. When Central Industrial Security Force sleuths frisked him during security check and scanned his bag, they found the ammunition hidden inside. It was a 7.65mm caliber bullet, also known as .32 automatic, often used in a handgun.

Anil Kumar insisted he was a construction labourer and had come to Bengaluru only for work, but he had no valid licence or documents for the weapon.
