Bengaluru: In the second such incident in three days, a Gujarat-bound passenger carrying a live bullet, compatible with a semi-automatic assault rifle, was nabbed at Kempegowda International Airport on Friday. He didn’t have a licence.

Central Industrial Security Force sleuths identified the suspect as 35-year-old Kamal Pratap Singh from Madhya Pradesh. He was scheduled to board IndiGo Airlines flight 6E 604 to Surat.

On Wednesday, a 28-year-old man from Bihar was caught with a bullet, compatible with automated pistols.

During security check, CISF sleuths found the 5.56mm bullet in Singh’s hand luggage. Claiming to be a private firm employee, he couldn’t explain why he was carrying the bullet and why he had no valid documents.
