Air Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 40 lakh from 2 passengers at Kannur Int'l Airport

Kannur: Air Customs sleuths on Sunday seized 826 grams of gold valued around Rs 40 lakh from two passengers who arrived at Kannur International Airport from Sharjah in an Air ndia flight.

Customs Assistant Commissioner E Vikas-led team detained Nurudheen of Kasaragod and Sahad of Thuneri in Kozhikode with the smuggled gold.

Customs Superintendent K Sukumaran said they seized 156 grams of gold from Nurudheen and 670 grams of gold from Sahad. The gold was in compound form and was concealed in their underwear.
