Mumbai Airport's Terminal Resumes Operations

Operations are set to resume at Terminal 1 at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) from March 10.

T1 serves domestic passengers and had remained suspended since May 2020.

Airport officials have said that 102 flights would be operated, going to 27 destinations from Wednesday through Terminal 1.

Operations are resuming after almost an year, as flight services were completely suspended from March 2020 to May 2020 to help contain the pandemic, following which Terminal 1 had still remained closed.

T1 will cater to flights of domestic operations like Trujet, Go Air, Star Air and Air Asia. The private airport operator said that it would have 52 flights at departure and 51 at arrival. It also added that select flights of Indigo with subset series 6E 5500 6E 5950 would be operating from Terminal 1, while the rest would continue to operate from Terminal 2.

Arrangements have been made in order to ensure social distancing and avoid crowding. The airport will have 38 check-in counters across the five domestic carriers which will help avoid overcrowding.
