Gold worth Rs 16.52 lakh seized at MIA

Mangaluru: Custom officials seized gold weighing 350 grams and valued at Rs 16.52 lakhs from a passenger at the Mangaluru International Airport on Tuesday. 

 Officials said that a person named Mohammad Awan from Murdeshwar has been arrested. He had come by an Air India flight from Dubai and had concealed the gold in his trolley bag beadings. 

 The operation was led by Customs Deputy Commissioner Dr Kapil Gade.
