Cargo services launched at Hubballi Airport

Hubballi: The Hubballi Airport has commenced the Transportation of the Outbound and Inbound Movement of Cargo Services and thereby becoming the First Airport in the North Karnataka Region to begin the Cargo Services.

Pramod Kumar Thakre, director of the Hubballi Airport informed here on Monday that the Cargo operations are handled in coordination with Airports Authority of India (AAI) Cargo Logistics and AMP Allied Services Company Limited, which is 100 percent owned subsidiary of the AAI.

He said that the New facility will help the Business community in the North Karnataka Region.

Dedicated X-ray Baggage Inspection system has been installed to facilitate the Cargo Movement from Passenger Terminal Building.

Mr. Thakre said that a fully dedicated Cargo Terminal built at a cost of Rs. 60.6 lakhs is also ready for commissioning and is expected to begin operations in April this year.

The upcoming Cargo Terminal will have secured storage space for both inbound and outbound cargo.

The Indigo Airline is the sole operator for the Cargo movement in this Region, he said and urged the Trading community to make use of the new Services.
