India’s Jewar Airport begins pre-qualification process for tenders

Noida International Airport has reportedly commenced the pre-qualification process for the development and construction of Jewar Airport through e-tender.

The entity is a special purpose vehicle launched by the Uttar Pradesh Government to build and operate the Jewar international airport, which will be built in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Moneycontrol reported that the e-tender is a two-stage international competitive process that includes engineering, procurement and construction of the terminal building and associated works as part of the first package of work.

It also includes airside, landside and associated works as part of the second package.

Zurich International Airport’s International (ZRH) subsidiary Yamuna International Airport secured the right to build, operate and maintain Noida International Airport.

It has also reportedly started the process of picking contractors for the engineering and construction of the terminal building.

An official was quoted as saying: “We expect that the project-affected people will start shifting to Jewar Bangar by mid-June. Post that, construction work can start.”
