Regional airline FlyBig all set for take off in the North-east region

Airlines flybig is all set to embark on its operations in the North-east region starting from the second week of May 2021.

The company announced that flights will connect Guwahati, Rupsi, and Kolkata initially. In due course, other routes like Agartala, Dibrugarh, Tezu and Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh will be connected with Guwahati and Shillong.

The company stated that flybig is bringing connectivity to North-east India at a time when the Country is facing challenges due to covid-19 pandemic and safer means of transport have become critical to ensure the aspirations of the emerging region and its economy.

Partnering with Central and State governments to leverage initiatives such as the Regional Connectivity Scheme under the government’s UDAN project, flybig endeavours to be the development platform for the region in which it operates.

Captain Srinivas Rao, CEO, flybig said, “We are extremely happy that flybig is taking its vision one-step ahead by commencing the operations in North-East India and providing regional connectivity to remote areas like Rupsi, Pasighat and Tezu. We are determined to provide essential and safe travel to everyone at this crucial time our country is going through. I am grateful to the government for the Regional Connectivity Scheme which has made travel affordable for the common man. IIn years to come, we will boost connectivity in more regional spaces.”
