No Indian passenger has disembarked at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) since Sri Lanka imposed a COVID-19 travel ban on India on May 06 and only cargo flights have landed at the airport ever since, an aviation official said.
All regulations and restrictions are being strictly upheld, Shehan Sumanasekara, Director Operations, Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) told EconomyNext on May 17.
Sumanasekara was responding to reports that several flights from India have landed at the BIA over the past few days.
“We guarantee that there were no Indian passengers aboard the last few flights that came in as reported in the media,” he said.
