Delhi Airport gets a dedicated COVID-19 vaccination centre

Delhi International Airport gets a dedicated COVID vaccination centre. This was recently announced by the airport. It stated that the vaccinated centre has been set up in association with Manipal Hospital from June 1.

As per the reports, the centre has been set up at Terminal-1 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, and the facility aims to offer opportunity to vaccinate more than 60000 employees of various stakeholders, I.e., airlines, Air Traffic Control, cargo business, ground handling agencies, among others, working at the airport.

Reportedly, all staff who are more than 18 years of age can get the jab by registering themselves at the centre on a payment basis.

Considering aviation, and those associated with it, a priority sector, the government noted that it should also be considered as a priority group for vaccination.

Referring to this, DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar stated that they provided much-needed support to the country and the countrymen during the lockdown, and that they are now launching the vaccination drive for these COVID warriors, who have been a crucial part of the airport's ecosystem.
