MIAL veteran R K Jain to be Adani Group CEO (Airports)

New Delhi: Adani Group, now India’s biggest private aviation player in terms of having the maximum number of airports under it, has finalised its core team for this sector. R K Jain, who has been Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) CEO since inception, will be Adani Group’s CEO (Airports). While he will report to Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) CEO Malay Mahadevia, the CEOs of group airports will report to Jain.

The headquarters of AAHL, wholly owned by Adani Enterprises, is being relocated from Mumbai to group base Ahmedabad to “foster collaborative working and agile decision making which is of paramount importance at this stage of (its) journey.”

Mahadevia announced the new organisation structure after AAHL has taken over MIAL and will start work on Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd (NMIAL).

Behnad Zaidi, former Fraport USA CEO who was Adani Group’s CEO for airports, will now be CEO of non-aero at AAHL. The group has major plans to develop areas around its airports on the lines of Singapore Changi to attract non- travellers to spend time there.

Prakash Tulsiani will take over as CEO of MIAL; Captain B V J K Sharma as CEO of NMIAL; B G Gandhi CEO will be chief airport officer at Ahmedabad; Nirav Shah will head Managlore and Vishnu Jha will head Jaipur airport. Manoj Katar will be head of operations at MIAL, India’s second busiest airport and the world’s busiest single runway airport. MIAL veteran Rekha Nair will be head of customer experience and quality at AAHL.
