Jammu: Days after Rajouri and Srinagar districts in Jammu and Kashmir issued orders banning storage, sale, possession, use and transport of drones, J&K's Baramulla district has also followed suit.
Baramulla district magistrate on Tuesday ordered a ban on sale, possession, storage, transport and use of drones and similar unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The order says: Whereas, flying unmanned aircraft (drones) is governed by Aircraft Act, 1934 and Civil Aviation Rules 2021 which restrict flying drones (UAV) in prohibited areas viz:
1. Within a distance of 3 kilometres from the perimeter of any civil, private, defence airport, military installations/facilities, state secretariat complex.
2. Within 2 kilometres from perimeter of strategic locations/vital installation.
3. Over eco-sensitive zones around national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.
This comes in the backdrop of the recent drone attack on Jammu air base.
