New Delhi: The government has appointed former Biman Bnagladesh CFO Vineet Sood as Alliance Air (AA) CEO. Sood will take over the role from July 31, 2021, for a period of three years. Alliance Air, the regional turboprop arm of Air India, will remain the only government-owned fixed wing airline in India once AI and AI Express are privatised, a process expected to be completed this fiscal.
Sood will take over from Harpreet A De Singh, AI’s ED and chief of flight safety before being appointed as CEO of AA last October.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Sood did B Com (Hons) from Delhi’s Shri Ram College of Commerce and went on to become a CA.
He joined Nigerian carrier Dana Airlines in Lagos as head of finance and accounts in September 2008 and later rose to the position of CFO there till May 2015. A few months later, Sood joined Biman Bangladesh as CFO.
