'Air Cargo Movement' from Mohanbari Airport starts from August 3

Dibrugarh: 'Air Cargo Movement' from Mohanbari Airport here began from August 3. With the inauguration of cargo service here, a long-felt demand of the people of the region has been fulfilled. The service can also play a pivotal role in boosting up of economy and enhance more employment opportunity. Inaugurating the 'Movement of Air Cargo' through the Terminal Building of Dibrugarh Airport, Ramjee Awasthi, Airport Director apprised the gathering at the airport premises that the airport authority here had been aiming to start movement of air cargo for the convenience of people and businesses and to support the development and growth of the region.

He added that consequent upon the approval from the 'Bureau of Civil Aviation Security', the service has been started from the Passenger Terminal building till the time full-fledged 'Cargo Terminal' becomes ready for operation. "The cargo terminal is under development and is at various stages of permission at Dibrugarh Airport," pointed out Awasthi. He further stated that cargo shipments, from now on wards, can be sent almost anywhere from Dibrugarh Airport with fast shipping and reliable delivery time.

Air Cargo, being a trade facilitator, will contribute to the economic growth of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and other adjoining regions by carrying important shipments such as Tea, Fresh Fish/Flowers/Fruits and other local high-value and perishable goods all over the country and further to the other parts of the world.
