'Free flights for life': How airlines are celebrating India's Olympics heroes

India’s contingent to the Tokyo Olympics 2022 has brought in its best-ever tally of seven medals—and winners have just all bagged free travel on three airline carriers. Indigo, Go First and Star Air have their own unique ways of toasting the victories—from a year of free travel to a lifetime!.

Here’s what happened at the Tokyo Olympics: javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won the country’s second-ever individual gold, while two silvers were won by Mirabai Chanu (weight-lifting) and Ravi Kumar Dahiya (wrestling), and four bronzes by PV Sindhu (badminton), Lovlina Borgohain (boxing), Bajrang Punia (wrestling) and the men’s hockey team (incidentally the first hockey medal in 41 years).

Indigo has offered Neeraj Chopra unlimited free travel for a year.

Go First, formerly known as Go Air, has offered free tickets to India’s Olympic winners for the next five years, until 2025.

Star Air has offered the Olympic champions a lifetime of free air travel.
