Air India Express stops 12-year-old girl at Karipur airport; spots inoculation as reason

Nadapuram: A 12-year-old girl was stopped from travelling in Air India Express with her mother at Kozhikode airport. The airline officers prevented her by raising a strange argument that the girl was not vaccinated.

Later, the mother and two other children boarded the flight while the girl and her family members stayed at the airport for 18 hours arguing with the Air India officials. At last, she was allowed to travel by another flight to the UAE.

Nasiha Nasneen, daughter of Parakkadavu natives Jamal Vanimel and Shahidha, were taken to task by the negligence of the officials. Nasiha was stopped at the checking point pointing out that uninoculated travellers are not allowed to enter Ras al Khaimah. Though the parents explained that 12 year old children are not vaccinated anywhere in the world, the officers did not pay heed. Such a guideline regarding travel of inoculated children was not mentioned in the websites of either Air India or Ras al Khaimah airport.

However, after the intervention of sales manager, another flight was arranged to Sharjah for her.
