These are the 4 new airports and 6 heliports coming up in the next few weeks

When the skies clear up in October, you will be able to fly straight to some of Maharashtra's most beautiful beaches. The airport in Chipi-Parule in Sindhudurg, which has been in the works for a while, is all set to come alive. Jyotiraditya Scindia, India's minister for Civil Aviation, has confirmed that Sindhudurg Airport will be among the four new airports to be start operations this year. The others are Gondia also in Maharashtra, Keshod in Gujarat, and Deoghar in Jharkhand. In addition, heliports at Sanjoli (Shimla), Sase (Manali), Mandi and Baddi in Himachal Pradesh and Haldwani and Almora in Uttarakhand will also start operations in the next 100 days, said the minister.

Sindhudurg Airport, or Chipi Airport, is located along the Konkan coast between Malvan and Vengurla. It will give you much better access to the Konkan region. From here, Tarkarli—a popular diving site—and the Sindhudurg Fort are barely 20km away. The Sindhudurg airport could also be a good option for anyone driving to North Goa. The driving distance from here to Tiracol, Arambol and Mandrem beaches is roughly 60km, which is the same as it is from Goa's Dabolim airport.

The airport at Keshod in Gujarat will land you just 60km from the Somnath Temple on the coast of Gujarat, 50km from the Gir sanctuary, and less than 40km from Junagadh fort.

In Uttarakhand, the heliport at Haldwani gets you a bit closer to Nainital than the commercial airport at Pantnagar. Further, with chopper services to Almora, you will be able to reach Ranikhet and Binsar much sooner. We're yet to find out what other parts of Uttarakhand these new heliports will be connected to.
