Telangana: 16 Air Traffic Control Officers graduate from Air Force Academy

Hyderabad: Sixteen Air traffic control trainee officers graduated from the Air Force Academy (AFA) here on Thursday after successfully completing 139th Air Traffic Surveillance Services (ATSS) Course.

Addressing after reviewing the impressive Graduation ceremony held at Air Traffic Control Officers Training Establishment (ATCOTE) at AFA Academy, Dundigal, here, Academy Commandant Air Marshal Sanjeev Kapoor highlighted the importance of Radar Controllers' role in mission accomplishment.

He apprised the graduating trainees on the challenges ahead in the field of aviation and advised them to achieve professional excellence by remaining abreast with modern developments in the field of Radar Controlling.

He wished the graduating officers success in their future endeavours.

The young military Air Traffic Controllers, after having undergone 12 week long course, can now perform the highly demanding and skillful task of controlling aircraft using modern radars, the academy said in a statement here.

ATCOTE, a premier Air Traffic Control Training Establishment of the country, undertakes training for IAF Officers apart from officers from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and officers from Friendly Foreign Countries in the field of Air Traffic Services.

Out of total air traffic control officers graduated from the academy, twelve Air Traffic Control Officers from the Indian Air Force, three from the Indian Navy and one from the Kenya Air Force graduated as Radar Controllers.
