Delhi-bound flight hit by bird during take off, lands safely at Guwahati

New Delhi: An IndiGo flight with over 100 people on board returned safely to Guwahati on Monday after suffering a bird hit during take off for Delhi. The Airbus A320 neo (VT-IZF) is now grounded for replacing fan blades that got damaged in the bird hit.

"The aircraft operating as 6E-2329 Guwahati-Delhi had a bird strike on engine number 2 and the pilots returned safely to the origin. On checks, the A320 was grounded. IndiGo is sending men and material to replace two fan blades that got damaged," said people in the know.

An IndiGo spokesperson said there were 99 passengers and 6 crew on VT-ITZ. "All passengers were accommodated on the next Guwahati-Delhi flight," she said.
