Indore: Flight movement to increase as aviation ministry relaxes norms

Indore: The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has relaxed daily flight movements to and from Devi Ahilyabai Holkar airport in Madhya Pradesh. It has led to increase in flight movement. The Aviation Ministry has allowed to operate with up to 85 percent capacity in terms of flight movement as compared to 60 percent capacity earlier.

This relaxation would allow them to accommodate more number of flights in a day, according to Indore officials.

Indore airport witnesses a daily movement of around 26 flights.

Airport’s officiating director Prabodh Sharma told the Times of India that they had received a notification from the ministry about two days ago.

Sharma further added, 'With this ease in relaxation, we would be able to accommodate more number of flights in a day and we are expecting to do re-commencement of flights on Jodhpur, Varanasi, Surat, Chandigarh and Shirdi routes.’

‘Flights on these routes will resume from next month while others will have regular connectivity options before the end of this year’, Sharma told Times of India.
