Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia assures development of six airports in Telangana

Hyderabad: Union minister for civil aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia has assured that the Centre would extend support for development of six airports proposed at various places in Telangana apart from providing metro rail connectivity to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad.

He also said the Centre would help in expansion of the international airport and to operate more direct flights to other countries from Hyderabad.

The Union minister, who was in the city to participate in various developmental programmes, met chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragati Bhavan on Saturday on the invitation from the CM.

KCR requested the support from the Civil Aviation ministry for development of airports as Telangana especially Hyderabad has been witnessing rapid growth, becoming an economic growth centre and emerged as a hub in Business, IT, Health and Tourism sectors. “Since people from other various places in the country and other international cities, direct flights connectivity should be increased especially for countries like South East Asia, Europe, USA from Hyderabad,” KCR said.

Responding to the request of CM KCR, the union minister said the Centre would extend all help for the Hyderabad International Airport, as Hyderabad is developing as an international city.
