Mumbai: Flight services from Terminal 1 to resume from October 20

Mumbai: With the downfall in the Covid-19 cases across the state and an increase in the nationwide vaccination drive, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will soon resume its operations from Terminal 1.

Mumbai International Airport's Terminal 1 approximately caters to around 156 flights daily. The operations were suspended in March 2021, amid the rise of the Covid-19 cases. As per the latest report, GoFirst, Star Air, Air Asia and TruJet will resume all their domestic operations from Terminal 1, from midnight on October 20.

According to the report published by the Times of India (TOI), a Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) spokesperson said, "While IndiGo’s select flights will resume from October 31 with most of its flight operating from T2 and base flights will operate out of Terminal 1."

The resumption of services via T1 will help the airport maintain social distancing measures, and ensure seamless transit. As per the report, there will be twelve registration desks and 12 testing booths for arrivals and departures of CSMIA’s T1.
