New Delhi: Budget carrier SpiceJet has introduced a new service that allows its passengers to book cabs mid-air for transportation using the in-flight entertainment platform Spicescreen.
The airline on Thursday tweeted, "Tired of cab bookings always cancelling on you? We have a solution for that. Have your cab ready upon arrival with Mid-Air Cab bookings with #SpiceJet! Book on http://spicejet.com or download the app now."
At present, the service is available in the Delhi Airport, but soon, it will be extended to other big cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Goa and Ahmedabad in phased manner.
To book a cab during the flight, passengers need to connect to SpiceScreen application on their mobile and go to CAB section on the homepage. Fares can be checked on the booking page which are usually fixed per unit distance.
Once a cab is booked, the passenger gets an OTP message via SMS, WhatsApp and automated in-bound call confirmation on their mobile phone on arrival.
