Kohima: Nagaland minister for transport, civil aviation & land resources, P Paiwang Konyak on Thursday met Union aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and had a discussion on the Ciethu Greenfield Airport.
The Ciethu Greenfield Airport is 20 km from Kohima.
The Nagaland minister informed that their discussion also included the water aerodrome project at Doyang water reservoir.
Informing about the meeting with the Union aviation minister, Nagaland minister Konyak tweeted: “Had a fruitful discussion with my Union Minister on Kohima Nagaland Ciethu Greenfield Airport, Water Aerodrome/ Sea Plane at Doyang Reservoir through RCS ( UDAN) & Small Airstrip.”
A media report quoted Paiwang as saying that Union minister Scindia “agreed” to take up the projects in Nagaland soon.
It has been reported that the Nagaland government has already purchased a plot of land measuring 1013.72 acres at Ciethu. The land is ready to be handed over to the Airport Authority of India (AAI).
