Chennai: The Chennai air customs has seized three postal parcels containing contraband drugs worth Rs 1.6 lakh.
The first parcel, which weighed about 14 grams, arrived from the Netherlands and was addressed to a Chennai-based person.
On opening the parcel, 26 green-coloured tablets suspected to be MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, were found, according to an official release from the central unit on Tuesday.
In another case, ganja (24 gram) and cannabis mixed with neutral matter (64 gram), were concealed inside a parcel from the United States. It was addressed to a person in Andhra Pradesh.
The third parcel too was from the US. It was addressed to a person in Hyderabad. It contained 105 gram of ganja, which was concealed inside a humidifier.
