Amber Dubey to address 'Kochi Drone Utsavam' in Kerala on Nov 1

Kochi: Amber Dubey, Joint Secretary of Union Ministry of Civil Aviation, will address 'Kochi Drone Utsavam' at Malayattoor in Kerala on November 1 in connection with the Amrit Mahotsav.

About 12 companies will participate in the event aiming to create public awareness on various applications of drones in daily life, sources said on Sunday.

The event will exhibit various drones and its demonstrations. Demonstration of Surveillance drone, Micro Drone for Special Forces, Autonomous precision payload delivery, Agriculture spraying drone, Emergency search and rescue drone, UTM, Drone tracker and Survey drone will be the highlights in the event.

Group Capt MJ Augustine Vinoth (retd), who started Drone Journalism in India, will welcome the gathering. The programme sessions includes Short coverage by Agriculture Insurance procedures by Agri Insurance Company of India (PSU of GoI), Walk around and interaction with drone companies and Short presentation by drone forensics team of Kerala Police.

Member of Parliament Benny Behanan will be the chief guest. Angamaly MLA Roji M John, former Kerala Transport Minister Jose Thettayil, K Anand, Managing Trustee of Adi Shankara Trust, Prof CP Jaishankar, COO, Adi Shankara Institute, Squadron leader Ms Varsha Kukreti (retd), DGCA Certified Drone Trainer, and CEO of AMOS and Integrated DRONE Training Academy, Panchayat Presidents and Bank Officials will also attend the event.

According to the liberalised Drone Rules -2021, notified by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, drones can offer tremendous benefits to almost all sectors of the economy like -- agriculture, mining, infrastructure, surveillance, emergency response, transportation, geo-spatial mapping, defence, and law enforcement etc.
