Chennai man booked for forgery

Pune: The Airport police registered a case of forgery against a Chennai-based man (62) for possessing two fake Aadhaar cards and using them to enter the airport.

According to the Airport police, the man and his accomplice, a woman, came to the Lohegaon airport at 4.30pm on Thursday and tried to enter the facility by using the fake Aadhaar card.

Senior police inspector Bharat Jadhav of the Airport police said, “Both of them were detained before they could catch their international flight.”

During the searches, the Central Customs officials found gold in their bag, which the duo attempted to smuggle. The officials then registered a separate complaint of smuggling against the duo, the police said.
