Mohali: Over nine flights arrived and departed late from the international airport on Friday, a day when the city received season’s first dense fog.
Three flights were from Delhi. Airport officials said a flight departed late from Delhi due to fog, whereas visibility at Chandigarh airport was under permissible limits. An IndiGo flight to Jaipur departed late by47 minutes, a Go-First flight to Srinagar by 30 minutes, an IndiGo and Go First flight to Ahmedabad, and Vistara to Delhi by 15 minutes.
Sharjah flight of Air India Express was delayed by 20 minutes, arriving at 5.05pm instead of scheduled 4.45 pm. The Air India airport manager said that the flight departed late from Sharjah at 12.39 pm against scheduled time of 12 noon. “There was no other reason for the delayed arrival of the flight,” he said. As of result the flight also departed late by an hour from Chandigarh, he added.
