Mumbai: Customs department seized 55kg heroin worth Rs 385 crore at CST International Airport in Mumbai in the last six months.
The customs is in the process to destroy the seized narcotics drugs along with similar other consignments including illegally smuggled foreign-made citrate in the incinerator at Taloja on Wednesday.
“It’s tough to detect narcotics, mostly we catch such consignment through alertness of our staff who keeps a close eye on suspicious behaviours, getting information through other resources and dog squad,” said customs commissioner Virender Choudhary.
