Air India pilot dies of cardiac arrest at parents’ Nashik home

Nashik: Air India pilot, 48-year-old Rashmi Muthe, who was visiting her aged parents, died of cardiac arrest on Saturday evening. The officials of the Nashik civil hospital said that the viscera of the pilot has been preserved for further examination to ascertain what could have caused the heart attack.

The deceased was found unconscious in the bathroom of her parent’s house at 7pm on Saturday.

Sajan Sonawane, the senior PI of the Sarkarwada police station, said Muthe had gone to take a bath. When she did not come out for a long time, her mother went to check on her, and found her unconscious. Rashmi was immediately shifted to the Nashik civil hospital where she was declared brought dead. Her father Maruti Muthe said, “The death report says that she died of a massive heart attack.”

Civil surgeon Ashok Thorat said, “We have preserved the viscera of the deceased woman to investigate the cause of death. Until the reports arrive, it is difficult to arrive at a conclusion.”

Maruti Muthe said that his daughter used to regularly visit them and also called them regularly to check on their health, even when she was abroad.
