New Delhi: Back in founder Tata Group fold, Air India has started to get its groove back.
Superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Monday tweeted: “Air India back with Tatas… I remember the banner ad in the late (19)50’s on a striking building in Connaught Place, New Delhi, that I would pass by as I travelled to university in the Univ special: ‘There's an air about India!’ Bobby Kooka at his best!!”
In a brilliant reply that Kooka — known for his wit — would have approved of, Air India Tweeted: “Shahenshah ko Maharajah ka Salaam. We look forward to having you on board our #WingsOfChange.”
Air India’s return to the Tatas has kindled hope that the airline will get its lost glory back, though in a contemporary form.
Bachchan is among the legion of old-timers who have seen the glory days of AI under JRD Tata’s leadership.
