Does Ram Charan's airline service 'Trujet' takes a temporary break?

Megastar Chiranjeevi's son and 'RRR' actor Ram Charan is also an entrepreneur who has invested in the aviation business apart from being a lead actor in Tollywood. He ventured into the airline business in 2015 with his own carrier service ‘Trujet’ as a low-cost regional carrier.

But the Covid pandemic seems to have spoiled his business plans, as all the aircraft of Trujet were reportedly grounded on Wednesday night. Today, a statement has been released by the Trujet management. The press note alerts about the false news being circulated on social media about its Airline services being halted and its management being resigned due to the non-payment of salaries and etc news. Assuring it will resume its operations with short notice.

But a few local media reports suggest that the actual reason behind the grounding of its services is due to the growing losses. Also in a recent Parliament session, it was reportedly revealed that the ‘Trujet’ has incurred an operating loss of Rs 143 crores for the 2021 financial year, Whereas it was around Rs 10.1 and Rs 17.56 crores in 2020 & 2019 respectively.

Reportedly, the top managerial team such as CEO, CFO and CCO of the 'Trujet' have resigned and a new CFO was appointed. Also, a few media reports state that the carrier service has not paid the full salaries to its employees instead paid only half of it for the last few months now. Trujet has reportedly faced losses due to the subsidies given by its carrier under the Regional Connectivity Scheme - UDAN which made things worse in the recent pandemic.
